Question 2 Answer
France saw an uprising mass in the wave of
revolutions in 1848. This mass uprising happened because of the hunger that the
people saw and the differences between classes. Only rich people and the
government do what they want. There was also an element of crisis that happened
in Europe which led to the revolutions. The leaders of this revolution were Louis
Auguste Blanqui, Armand Barbès, and François Vincent Raspail. They were later
arrested by the king. There was violence coming from the soldiers towards the
protestors. They were firing their weapons and caused some serious injuries. A
large part of the population participated in this revolution except for the
nobles.

Was Louis XIV an Absolute Monarch
Louis XIV was an absolute monarch. An absolute monarch is a king with absolute power. He was known as “sun king”. Louis XIV was the king of France. He ruled from 1643 to 1715. In this essay I will be talking about why he was an absolute monarch.
Louis XIV was an absolute that he controlled the rich people or high class people. For example he would let all rich poor live with him and also watch him while he is eating. He did that so he can control them and keep his eye on them.
Louis XIV was very rich. For example he destroyed his old house to build a huge palace called the “Versailles”. Louis XIV didn’t care about the money, if it brings fame and glory to him or France.
Louis XIV bought a lot of things from other countries. He bought trees from France and other things from the outer world. He did that because it showed wealth and power, and it brought more glory as I said before.
Under Louis XIV’s rule France changed. France became the most powerful nation of Europe. This happened because Louis XIV’s thinking and wealth.
Louis XIV liked to be center of attention. He danced in parties while holding gold. People were surprised and glorified and that is what he wants to see.
Louis XIV’s words proved that he is an absolute monarch. “The state, it is me” was one of the most famous statement that he said. His actions and words proved that he was a king that can’t be replaced.
Louis XIV centralized power. He created a bureaucracy. This means that he made the government under one control.
Louis XIV would only hires ministers who will bring him glory. For example he hired a minister called Colbert; he was the minister of finance. What Colbert did was he improved taxation and helped industry.
Louis XIV was really an absolute monarch. What he did in his life was something that proves he was an absolute monarch. A king that starts ruling at the age of four or five that really proves.

How Did Geography Affect Trade? Ottoman Empire
The Ottoman Empire began 27 July, 1299. It was a Turkish empire which lasted a lot of time. Constantinople was its capital city that helped in expansion, which I will be talking later on. It was found by Osman 1. It was one of the longest lasting empires in all empire in their period of time.
The Ottoman Empire traded with a lot of countries. Like France, England, and other countries. Their place on the map really helped in their trade routes. For example they went from Algeria all the way to Russia. Geography and trade helped in getting money. That's why they had high economics.
The Ottoman Empire trading with Europe was good or balanced. What they got from Europe were crops like, paper, wood, sugar, coffee. In around the 1700's trade grew with Western Europe. It can be estimated up to 100 million dollars. This trading that happened with Europe and other countries is because of its place on the map.
The Ottoman Empire expanded in a lot of places. They expanded to the Middle East, The Balkans, and other places that are well known today. Also the Ottoman Empire expanded to Asia. As everyone knows, Asia has one of the most and valuable products. Turkey was between Asia and Europe so there place on the map helped the expansion.
Seas in the Ottoman Empire were very important in trading. It was surrounded by two great seas, the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. There were also rivers that surrounded the Ottoman Empire. These cities and rivers helped in trading, because trading threw ships was easier than land.
All the travelling that happened in the Ottoman Empire was to find new trading routes. When people traveled, they found new techniques to trade and explore. When the Ottoman Empire was its best it traded a couple of things. For example wheat, copper, cumin, salt, and sugar. This was important because countries from the entire world traded with them.
The Ottoman Empire lasted for a long time. In the end everything comes to an end. The Ottoman Empire expanded more than any other empire in the world. Finally, it ended October 29, 1923.
